Visualization Scripts and Images
Note: If you are new to visualization and recitation, you will need to get some live instruction before trying to practice on your own. If this is impossible, you can set up an initial interview or extended tutorial by phone. To schedule an interview contact us.
These visualization and recitation scripts were composed by Dr. Joe Loizzo based on performance scripts (sadhanas) used in the Nalanda tradition to guide the practice of role-modeling imagery.
This profound art of self-change conjoins the use of meditative power-tools—heroic imagery, performative statements (mantras), and inspiring breath-work—with the development of a confidential bond with a contemplative guide who models a way of being we choose to emulate.
Traditionally, access to meditation scripts like these is restricted to those with a confidential relationship with a qualified teacher who personally introduces the practice or else guides one in practices learned from other qualified teachers. The level of restriction corresponds to the varying levels of difficulty and intensity of different practices, which are grouped into four classes.
Active Process
Introductory active process (kriya tantra) practices are the least restricted and challenging, and are widely used for basic medical or psychological self-healing.

Highest Integral Process
The most advanced highest integral process (anuttara yoga tantra) are the most restricted and challenging, and are typically reserved for the highest levels of contemplative self-analysis, self-healing and self-transformation.
The heroic imagery involved in these practices comes in a wide range of different forms, to correspond to the diverse interests, capacities, motivations and levels of experience of individual practitioners.
The imagery revolves around a heroic archetype which serves as a generic image of an ideal way of being we choose to emulate. It may be consciously projected onto a chosen living role-model and/or internalized as a prosthetic self-image. In either case it serves as a mental model to envision and rehearse a more ideal self and way of being.
