Retreat

Retreat: Understanding Karma

The contemplative traditions of Buddhism and Yoga offer a view of reality and inner methods that enable human beings to achieve optimal health and happiness. Using the classical text Yoga Sutras as our guide, this weekend retreat will focus on the relationship between a triad of essential spiritual topics of emptiness, karma, and ethics.

Dr. Miles Neale will review excerpts from the text interpreted through an interdisciplinary and cross-cultural lens of Buddhism and psychotherapy as well as lead guided meditations on the four immeasurables.  Explore how awakened beings see the world, explain how things actually work, and advise us on how to live the good life.
